Freedom Sunday is a global day of worship, prayer and action on human trafficking. Faith communities join together to raise awareness of the crime of human trafficking and show the world our compassion for men, women and children who are trafficked and exploited around the world. As the world’s faith communities we must demonstrate a united and tangible response against human trafficking. This heinous crime must not be tolerated.
In 2014 a number of global faith organisations wanting to work in partnership joined together to develop resources that would engage faith communities in ending human trafficking under the name of Freedom Sunday.
Through Freedom Sunday, faith communities annually make commitments to take action to prevent the crime of human trafficking in our local and global communities. Together our desire is for Freedom Sunday to continue to be a resource and an event that will include a growing number of faith communities around the world. Through our worship and by inspiring local community action, we seek to prevent the global crime of human trafficking.
Together, let’s stop human trafficking and let’s start freedom.
